...that may be the longest six weeks of my life.  Time gets fuzzy like that sometimes.  Since the birthday party of doom (as I am now lovingly remebering it through my veil of frustrated misery) I struggled with my funk.  Applied for jobs, that are not at all to do with being self employed.  Had to bury another child, Louigi was hit by a car.  Went to London for an escape that didn't last nearly long enough.

Today is not the day for re-living it.

I'm still here...

Birthday )

I have been feeling really lonely of late.  Not helped by the fact that I have really been in the mood to go out.  It's rude to just invite myself over to Dundee for an evening so I'm relying on people remembering I exist and letting me know when they are planning a pub trip.  It looks like I have dropped off peoples radar recently so the invitations are not forthcoming.  Oh well.  We'll see.

Other stuff happened, wedding things are going OK for a change.  Sarah is helping with some loose ends.  The kittens have recovered from thier latest bout of sickness.  We are finishing off some more details for the wedding this weekend.  The invitations are basically ready to be sent - and they'll go off soon.  I have some sorting out of the house to do and some work.  Keeping busy.

Finally sitting down for 5 minutes with a cup of tea

Phew,  it has been some week.  (or several, I forget how long since I last posted)

I have been on and off miserable and lethargic, really missing Eric and quite tearful.  But I'm trying my best to roll with those punches now.  Eventually, I'm told it will get better.

The kittens have really settled in now, and Louigi seems to have accepted them.   So now I'm waiting for him to stop letting them get away with everything - including stealing his food out from under him!  They are due for a big slap when they grow bigger (and out of the kitten leaniency phase)

I still have work to do, although I have made a start.  I need to set aside some time next week to just get it all done.

This week has mostly been spent making wedding invitations, which became more urgent after Mum and Dad added another 30 names to the list.  I'm almost there now though, for 3 days of working on them.  I also sorted the flowers, saw my beautiful napkins and helped Dad with the car.  So I was really busy sorting things, but it was so crammed I felt a bit like there was still a lifetime of work left to go.  Arrrggghhhh!

On Wednesday night I went to the field to play with Mo and Ails.  It was a breath of well needed air, sun and sanity.

So yesteday I made Jam.  Mmm Jam.  And Adam and I are going to the field at the weekend to pick more berries, then dig out some more jars to make more jam.

Today I must clean the house at least a bit, store away the jam I made yesterday now it's cool and get a little more done for work.

TV, books, film and news

August 1st, 2007 (01:33 pm)

I wanted to note somewhere my feelings on these.

Still there is light at the end of the tunnel.

So in essence, I am desperately hoping that this trend starts to extend into other media forms.  People are only stupid if they are treated as stupid.

To the entertainment industry (which these days has to include the News, given what they are competing against for viewers), challenge us with your shows, books and features.  Start treating your viewers like adults.

Kitten milestones

July 28th, 2007 (11:34 am)

Adam would want me to note the occaision.

Last night all the kittens (even the big one) sat with us on the Sofa.  For about 2 1/2 seconds.  Adam was over the moon none-the-less.  Everyone on the sofa.

legs and friends

Big bruise of doom is unnerving to the GP.  Although truly, it doesn't bother me in the slightest!  The sore lumps were Dog bit me are a hematoma.  It's less excting than it sounds.  Mostly, bruise fluid (Blood) has collected in little pockets and will take a few weeks to dissapate.  Which, given my bruises hang around for all that time, means over a month.  I've to go back in two months if it hasn't cleared.  Ho Hum.

In other news, I found an old school friend, Juliet on FaceBook and we are going to have lunch in Aberdeen on Tuesday.  Which will be fun I'm sure.  She is playing at the Opera House this week.  We have so much to catch up on!

Ooo, successful friends.  That may not help the minor funk I'm in.  It's nothing much, just now I'm keeping myself distraced from it.  I need to do some work for the Craft Fayre next weekend, and start on Brad's waistcoat (since he has paid.)  I am looking for patterns Helen, I promise!

Wedding is fast becomming a big fat pile of annoying arse.  But that's another story.

LRP and things

July 26th, 2007 (09:19 am)

Oops.  I have double booked myself for the first weekend in August!  I am assisting running a LRP in Tayport, and I'm paid up to attend a craft fayre.  Well work has to come first, so I need to work out a way to break it to the guys... (to be honest I don't think they'll miss me much, they are super competant at these things!)  I'll make up some kit for the players, so people can try to be in costume.  That should be enough of a help out.

It's annoying though, I wanted to be there!

stuff

July 23rd, 2007 (02:12 pm)

The giant bruise on my leg is still sore, so I think I need to go and see Dr Walker.  I've waited since Thursday, and today is a bank holiday.  Perhaps it will be better by tomorrow.  That would be good since I have training again and thus a high chance of getting it thumped again.  Maybe Aleks can be persuaded not to strike that leg if I show him the injury.  (He's a great trainer, but can be mean.)

Also, oddly, my facebook friends list is growing of it's own accord (after only two days) strange.  Still I have finally managed to track down some old friends from the before time.  Which is really lovely.

I may post a photo of bruise later.  Not for the faint hearted.

New Kittens

July 18th, 2007 (03:08 pm)

So we have two new kittens.  George and Harry.  I picked them up last Tuesday and they have settled in really well.

There have only been minor teething problems on thier part, a few puddles and some throwing up.  They have met Louigi and seem to get on OK.

I was really sad last week.  I'm not really sure why.  Adam helped me finish off some orders and we painted the office room.  It looks great!

When I have a properly formed thought I'll post it.  In the mean time here are some piccies...This is Harry (or as he is known HarryHarryHarryHarryHarry)

And this is George (Boogola George)

Adam and I have been chatting a lot in passing over the last couple of weeks about getting a new friend for Loui.  Or as Adam says a Bi-atch.

Foolish me, I went to look at Arbroath Cats Protection site today.  They have loads of kittens!  Two sets of them have a waiting list, but these little fellows don't appear to.  I called for more information, and hopefully they will get back to me tonight.

On a sad note, the cat Henry is the spitting image of Mr Eric.  That made me really sad.  I hope somebody gives him a lovely new home.

The sadness does make me wonder if I am really ready for a new baba.  But I am really worried that Loui is lonely, and I would love to have some more tiny baba's to look after.

We'll see.  Adam says we will talk about it tonight, which might mean he is doubtful.  And I really would like some more information about the Beatles before I really entertain the notion of filling my house up with little boys again.
